I woke up this morning to fluffy snow falling and absolute silence.
No cars driving by.
No fork lifts and/or trucks backing up and beeping.
No traffic in the distance.
No ambient/bassy techno music from the jerk next door.
No dogs barking from the apartment below.
No stomping up and down the steps from the kids in the building.
No air traffic over-head.
Not even a hum from the refrigerator.
Just quiet. It sure was amazing.
I haven’t heard quiet like this since moving to New York. The closest we get to real quiet time usually involves cars swishing by and some music from next door. Today was special.
I soaked it all in.
All 10 minutes of it.
And then a car alarm went off.
At least I got to enjoy it while it lasted.
